JEVA ALOE VERA GEL REVIEW | AFFORDABLE ALOE VERA GEL AVAILABLE IN INDIA | JEVA PURE ALOE VERA AND SAFFRON ALOE VERA GEL COMPARISON

Hi everyone.

If you are in search of an affordable aloe vera gel for both skin and hair, you are now at the right place.

I have been using the jeva aloe vera gel for more than a year now and never felt like switching to some other brand anytime soon.

The one I’m going to talk about now is their pure aloe vera gel and one with saffron extract. They have other variants too. If you want to know about the other variants or any other skincare product in general, check my instagram page @girl_instaglam, where I’m more active.

PRICE AND AVAILABILITY-

The 100g tub retails for INR 150. It is available in Nykaa app. You can find this product at discount most of the time for around INR 100 in nykaa. Buy from here.

PACKAGING
-

The product comes in a plastic tub packaging with a screw lid like most of the aloe vera gels. The packaging is travel friendly and no chances of product leak. The pure aloe vera gel is colorless whereas the saffron variant has a very slight tint to it.

KEY INGREDIENTS-

Aqua, aloe vera extract, glycerine, carbomer, DMDM hydantoin, sodium EDTA.

It is free from paraben and mineral oil. The saffron variant contains the same ingredients list but extra of saffron extracts at the end of the list.

TEXTURE / FORMULA-

The pure aloe vera gel has a very light weight texture. It gets into the skin easily and provides good amount of hydration. It feels very watery on the skin when applied. The saffron variant is slightly thicker in consistency compared with pure one. But both are light weight gels compared to the ones available from other brands.

I would say if you have dry skin type, you should go for saffron variant. Mine is dry acne prone skin and it loves saffron one more than the pure gel. Oily skin will love pure gel. If your skin can take a slightly thick gel, then no harm in trying saffron extracts one. Both gels feel non sticky and doesn’t give a greasy finish to the skin.

WHY TO USE ALOE VERA GEL?

These gels come quite handy to provide hydration. Since my skin is more prone to dryness, I tend to use products to provide good hydration. I prefer using these gels after serum. Then after application of gel, I go ahead with my moisturizer. If it’s night time routine, I also prefer to use facial oil sometimes to lock in the moisture and let my skin repair overnight.

WAYS TO USE ALOE VERA GEL-

Aloe vera gel acts as a good hydrating face mask. Take a scoop and apply thick layer of gel as a face mask. Let it sit for 30 minutes. Then gently wipe off the excess (optional) and use moisturizer.

Use the gels as hair mask. Rub and massage the gel on the scalp. You can leave it overnight or wash off after few hours.

They can be good alternative to hair gels. To tame frizz or add good amount of shine to hair, rub the gel between the palms and run through your hair.

You can add these gels to DIY face packs. Easiest one is honey + aloe vera gel as face mask.

PROs-

1. It is very affordable and easily available online.

2. It is light weight and doesn’t make skin feel greasy.

3. It is paraben and mineral oil free if that’s a matter of concern.

4. It can be used widely by all skin types.

CONs-

1. I couldn’t find it offline in any stores.

2. Since it comes in tub packaging, you need to be more careful while scooping the product and there are higher changes of it getting contaminated.
