HOW TO CLEAR UP SKINCARE STASH IN A BETTER WAY? VARIOUS WAYS TO USE SKINCARE PRODUCTS / HOW TO USE SKINCARE PRODUCTS WISELY BEFORE THEY EXPIRE
Hello World.
Thanks for checking this❤️
Are you a skincare addict? Do you like to try a lot of skincare products? Are you a skincare hoarder? Let me stop asking more questions. Even if you aren't one of them, read this post to know how you can use your skincare products wisely without wasting them.
I don't call myself a skincare hoarder but sometimes things happen and when you wake up, you will notice a stash lying there and you not being able to use them all up before they expire. I try my best to use all products without letting them expire. I'm sharing this with you all and I hope you will like it.
Use them as normal face washes. But what if it doesn't suit your skin? What if it makes your skin dry? What if it doesn't remove the excess oil/dirt/grime. Or if you have a huge stash, use them as listed below.
🔸To clean makeup brushes/sponges. Let's not go in depth about this. Instead of liquid soap, use face wash to clean your beauty tools.
🔸Use face washes as a part of your home manicure or pedicure routine.
Sometimes some scrubs can be really harsh to use on face. Some can cause breakouts and some may not suit your skin type. Instead of throwing it away, use it wisely.
🔸Use face scrubs as body scrubs. Your body skin won't be as sensitive as facial skin so the one's which didn't suit your face may suit your body. Instead of getting separate body scrubs, use this.
🔸Use scrubs for manicure, pedicure as said for face washes. But be gentle no matter what part you work with.
I love to try a lot of face mists. I have come to a point where I can't even imagine of living without mists. They make me feel so fresh. But when we see from skincare point of view, it's just an extra step which is not really required. There are a lot of various ways in which you can use them.
🔸Mix facial mists along with your DIY face packs/masks instead of adding only water. In this way you can use up a lot of mists before they expire.
🔸Sometimes makeup foundations (liquid) get dried up even before they expire. So you can take the required amount of foundation and then add a few spirtz of your face mist. Mix well and apply. It can make your blending task easy.
🔸Next step is similar to the previous one. Sometimes after you apply your foundation, you can notice cracks. It may not get blended in well. You can spray your facial mist on your beauty sponge and then try to blend in your foundation for a flawless finish.
(Disclaimer: Not all mists work well with foundations so do try in patches before going ahead with your entire face)
There are a lot of types when it comes to toners. Here let's see about the ones which helps to deep cleanse the skin. You generally use these types of toners with a cotton pad and wipe your face. Now let's see how to use them up in different way.
🔸 Nothing fancy. Use it for your body clean up, especially your neck. We often neglect our neck when it comes to skincare and sometimes with makeup too. You can notice a glow on your face but still neck looks dull which can pull down your entire look. Just try to maintain your neck similar to your face. Use the toner with cotton pad and wipe your neck, both front and back. You can do this with toners which didn't suit your face.
🔸You can use such toners to tone your underarms. It also makes you to feel fresh.
Some moisturizers may be heavy for your face. It can make your face look oily/greasy. Some may also make face look very dull. Also sometimes you may own a lot of moisturizers. What can be done with them?
🔸Use moisturizer as hand cream.
🔸Use moisturizer as body lotion. If it contains good amount of SPF, use it in the morning/afternoon time. Or else have it for night time.
🔸Add shimmers/ liquid highlighter/ illuminator with your moisturizer and use it on your body for that healthy glow. Don't forget your neck and shoulders. If that moisturizer suits your face, you can try using it on your face too. Glow babe✨
I haven't seen people going overboard with sunscreens. But there can be other reasons too. Most of the sunscreens makes skin oily, at least to some extent. When you find your perfect match, you may not use up the old ones.
🔸Use such sunscreens on your body. i.e.,the parts exposed to sunlight like hands and feet.
🔸I do this. I use the sunscreens which I don't like (because it makes my skin oily) when I stay indoors. If you are someone who thinks you don't need sun protection when you are at home, I can't help you. Use one unless and until there is no sunlight (no windows) in your room and you have your lazy bum on your bed the entire day.
🔸Use mineral sunscreens (zinc oxide based ones) as a spot treatment for acne. I recently got to know that this one works. This may not work for all but there is no harm in giving it a try.
Face packs are something which we don't include in daily skincare routine. So sometimes we may even forget about owning one. Sometimes some masks can be really drying for your skin type. So here are some ways to use them.
🔸Use them as spot treatment for acne. I'm such a huge fan of this hack. I use clay based masks as spot treatment. If you are wonderful what's spot treatment, it's nothing but applying the face pack only over the required spots wherever you have new pimples and washing after sometime. It helps to heal them. But again it may not suit everyone. It works well for my skin though. Patch test recommended.
🔸You can use suitable masks for bacne (back acne) too. I like to use turmeric, tea tree based ones. Even clay masks works sometimes.
🔸Try using skin brightening, anti blemishes face packs on body where you have left over marks, scars, etc. It helps to fade them soon.
🔸If you have powder based face packs, you can you using them as face cleansers. Check for suitability, ingredients, texture and then add them to your cleansing routine.
I have become a fan of facial oils and love trying them out. You will just need a few drops and they will last forever. Let me tell you a kind of weird way to use.
🔸When you have heavy makeup on and when micellar water let alone doesn't help, use facial oil to breakdown the layers of makeup. Take a few drops (slightly excess may be) and wipe with cotton/fingers. Instead of using some comedogenic oils, I feel this is better. Patch test recommended.
I mostly use this as a first step of cleansing. Sometimes people love to do this step after face wash. I haven't tried it much and I really don't like that tacky feeling it leaves on the skin. I will suggest to use micellar water as first step. Double cleanse daily, even if you don't wear makeup because you will be having on a layer of sunscreen which needs to be cleansed off.
🔸You can use micellar water for cleansing your makeup brushes. It works well and is less messy than using soaps.
That's all I remember now. If I get to know more, I will add them here. I hope you enjoyed reading this blog.
