HOW TO GET RID OF OPEN PORES IN FACE WITH REMEDIES- 10 WAYS TO GET RID OF OPEN PORES- PRODUCTS TO USE ALONG WITH HOME REMEDIES

Hey everyone.
Hope you people are doing good.
I'm writing a blog post after long time. I have been testing some amazing products and remedies. So here I'm with a detailed post on how to treat open pores.

What are pores?

Pores are small minute openings in the skin through which oil, sebum reach the skin surface through their glands. There are two types namely oil pores and sweat pores.

Causes of open pores-

There are various causes for open pores and it is really important to know the cause by which the treatment becomes easy.

Some major causes are-
1. Excess oil secretion
2. Sun exposure
3. Ageing
4. Improper skincare routine/using wrong products
5. Improper diet/ consuming fried oily foods in excess
6. Not removing makeup before getting to bed
7. Excess sweat

How to get rid of open pores?

Before getting into the remedies, I want you to know that we can just reduce the appearance of the size of the pores but not make it vanish to get smooth skin because it is a part of skin and it's the way through which the inner lying cells connects with the outer surface.

It is really important to have a good diet as well as a proper skincare routine. This forms the basis to reduce the appearance of open pores.

1. Cleanse your face twice a day. Use a good suitable cleanser for your skin type and cleanse your skin. It is really important to remove the dirt or else it gets clogged in the pores.

2. Exfoliate at least weekly once. Exfoliation is a step used to remove the dead skin cells from the surface of the skin. Use physical exfoliating scrub or a chemical peel as and when needed.

3. Toner after cleansing is one major step. This step helps a lot to remove any excess dirt from the skin. Toners help to maintain the pH level of the skin and they help other products to penetrate deep into the skin.

4. Use sunscreen daily. I can't stress how important it is to use a sunscreen. To know more in detail about sunscreens, click here

5. For oily skin, use more water based skincare products. It will provide the required moisturization without making skin oily. To know about the complete skincare for oily skin, click here

6. Remove makeup before sleeping. Makeup can really harm the skin and sleeping with makeup on fastens the process of skin ageing. So use a good makeup remover and then oil based cleanser to remove makeup.

What I did for open pores?

I had this issue of open pores and this made my skin look more aged and dull. I tried a lot of remedies, products and some worked really well. I can see a huge difference in my skin now. So I'm sharing the products which worked for me. One thing to keep in mind is to be consistent with skincare. It is not gonna work just with first use so be patient.

1. Apple cider vinegar

This is my top favotite remedy. It works but takes time. You can mix apple cider vinegar with water in ratio 1:1 or 1:2 (for sensitive skin) and use this as a toner daily twice or at least once daily after cleansing.
If possible, make ice cubes of this mixture and then rub gently on your face. Then pat your face with fingers and then go in with serum, moisturizer, etc.

2. Green tea

Make ice cubes with green tea and use this similar to ACV ice cubes. You can also place the wet green tea bags over your open pores and dab it in and out for a while.

3. Papaya

Peel the papaya skin along with some flesh and rub this on your face. We all know papaya has excellent brightening, lightening skin benefits. Along with it, it helps with open pores too. You can do this as a part of weekend skincare routine.

4. Jojoba oil

Jojoba oil is excellent for open pores. Use a few drops as a face oil in night time skincare routine. You can add few drops to your moisturizer or night cream. Use this regularly to notice difference.

5. Cucumber toner

Cucumber toner is one amazing product to use. Make your own product by grating a cucumber and extracting the juice. Then dab this using a cotton pad. You can add 2 to 3 drops of lemon juice to it. Skip it if you are really sensitive to it.

6. Multani mitti

Multani mitti is by far my favorite diy face pack. Add rose water to this and use it. If you have dry skin, I won't recommend you to use this regularly. You can also add a pinch of wild turmeric to this. If you wanna know more about DIY face packs, click here

7. Honey mask

Applying honey over open pores helps a lot. You can use this on entire face or just over the targeted areas. Just massage the skin with honey for few minutes and wash it off after a while. You have to do this for at least weekly once.

8. Tomato

You can rub the tomato slices directly or extract the juice and apply with cotton. If you have extremely sensitive skin, you can skip this. Doing this will also improve the skin texture and makes it soft.

9. Clay masks

Clay masks can be drying on skin so don't use this regularly. I suggest you to apply only on the targeted areas if you have dry skin and you can also skip this step. Follow up with a good suitable moisturizer.

10. Geranium

It is antibacterial and antiseptic which helps to reduce inflammation. It has astingent properties which helps to minimize the appearance of large pores and makes skin tight. So include geranium products in your skincare routine.
